2010 Scholastic Book Fair!

I have three words for you Scholastic. Book. Fair. This year it came to Harlan Community Middle School last week on March 18-25 during conferences. The book fair was filled with a variety of different books like scary, mysteries, romance, and even action packed novels!
They also had a nice selection of different gizmos, such as massive pencils, duck erasers, cell phone stickers, petite note pads, and gigantic posters. As you can see the book fair has a very nice selection for about you would need for a regular school day.
Something that defiantly is an eye catcher when you walk in is the teacher wish list. The teacher wish list is a large board with all the teachers names on it with slips of paper in there slot where they have books they would like for there classroom. This is here for generous individuals who would like to buy a book for a teacher’s classroom.
Mrs. Gray is the cashier for the book fair which means she is in charge of the whole entire book fair. She spent a lot of time and was very helpful to any student that was looking for anything. Mrs. Gray if you are reading this you have earned yourself a free prize from the vending machine! Congrats.
Next thing about the book fair is not just what we think of it but how others feel, and how others think about it. We interviewed Broc Sorensen.

Jess and Maddie- did you enjoy the book fair?
Broc- It was alright
Jess and Maddie-What a really cool thing you saw at the book fair-
Broc- Greatest Sports Moments. It was a really cool book

Jess and Maddie- So did you buy anything?
Broc- Nope but if I did I would’ve gotten that book.

Another big thing at the book fair is there posters. They have posters of basically anything you want. Like Nebraska huskers logo, Robert Patterson, Zac Efron, animals of all kinds, and signs about sports logos. Now you know lots about this book fair. A thing we may have forgotten was that it was in our own Harlan Community Middle Schools library. We also interviewed Mrs. Gray about the book fair.

Jess and Maddie- How many items were sold?
Mrs. Gray- Over 2000 dollars of items.

Jess and Maddie-What was the hottest item sold?
Mrs. Gray- Bug Eye Pen. All of them were gone!

Jess and Maddie- How many books did the school get to keep from the book fair?
Mrs. Gray- kept over 140 books, the library bought at least two books for each teacher who put there names on the “Teacher wish list.”

Maddie and Jess- What was the most popular book or series sold this year?
Mrs. Gray- The Miley Cyrus book, and the series Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Here are some pictures of the book fair.
