As we all know, the 2009-2010 Blizzards was hard on everyone. Many people had no power during most of the storms. What did you do during the snow storm? Did you drink hot chocolate, or did you go outside and make snowmen, or did you make snow angels. If you said you went outside during the storm then… you are crazy!
Most people where snowed in and they couldn’t go anywhere, for food, or for warmth. Some people had to use the heat pads that you use for your hands in their socks! And since you need electricity for a heater, the people who had no power had no way to heat their house, some people used generators or they used their fire place if they had one.
Another issue for some people was taking care of their animals. It was too cold for them to stay outside, but if they were inside for too long, then they would go on the floor… and nobody wants to clean that up!
The electric lines are in no fit condition for another storm. What the people could do to fix them was like putting band-aids on them, and they can only fix them when the snow is gone, which won’t turn out very good if there are any more storms.
On January 21, there was an ice storm, which added plenty of ice to the power lines, and some of them fell. A lot of people didn’t have any power, but there were a few who lost it for two days, and some will lose it for a week or longer. Did you lose power? Well if you did are you running a generator? Or are you using a fireplace to try to keep you're home warm?
